Video screening No-Latin Party at BAC! Festival in Barcelona
December 4th - 5th, 2008, 4 - 6 pm
Curated by Katerina Valdivia Bruch
In No-Latin Party, Diego Lama (*Lima, 1980) presents a critical review on the international art scene. Using a scene of the movie The Godfather,
the artist critizises an eurocentric art system. The cake of the Venice
Biennial has already been distributed among the usual artists and the
ones from the so called peripheric art scene have no chance to get a
piece of it. The background song, South American Way by Carmen Miranda, emphasizes the South American and/or Latin American origin of these artists. No-Latin Party
will be shown during the International Festival of Contemporary Art in
Barcelona, BAC! 08 at CCCB (Centre of Contemporary Culture in
Barcelona). There will be a parallel screening at Galerie IAC-Berlin for BAC! Redes. << back to projects
